Ask your email a question. Every point comes with a quote.

Ask finds up to eight relevant emails and answers in up to four short points, each with the exact words it relies on and a link to the email. When your emails don’t answer the question, Ask says so and shows the emails it looked through.

  • Quotes are checked against the email text, and points without a match are left out
  • When emails disagree, the answer says so
  • “Not in these emails” can list what the answer couldn’t find
Ask’s answer to “When can the renovation start?”: each point quotes an email, plus what the emails don’t say. Invented emails.

How to ask

Type a question where you search

  • Type your question in the search field at the top of your workspace, then press Ctrl Enter, or ⌘ Enter on a Mac
  • Beside the answer, the list shows the emails that contain the question’s words
  • Ask reads only emails you can access, and the answer comes only when you ask
  • You can reopen up to 50 of your latest answers in each workspace for up to 24 hours

Limits

Questions an hour, on both plans

  • 20 questions an hour for each person in each workspace, counted over a rolling hour
  • Each answer shows how many questions are left, such as “17 of 20 questions left this hour”
  • When you reach the limit, you can still search by keyword or by meaning
