Summaries and briefs that link back to the emails

When a summary is ready, it sits above the email and says which emails it’s based on, with a link to each. The original email is right below, so you can check amounts, dates and conditions yourself.

  • Hide the summary when you’d rather read the email first
  • Summaries and briefs are labelled as generated
  • Nothing generated is ever sent for you

The Brief

A short update for each area

  • The Brief is the first page after you sign in. It gives each area with email a short update made from its latest items, and says how many emails it’s based on
  • Each area’s brief is updated at most every 3 hours on Standard and every 30 minutes on Premium, or sooner after you move an email
  • New emails appear without reloading, and so do briefs when they’re updated
  • In a shared workspace, area briefs show only to someone who can read every mailbox in it

What it leaves to you

The original is always below its summary

  • Summaries and briefs can contain mistakes, so each one shows the emails it was made from
  • Check amounts, dates and conditions in the original before relying on a summary
  • Summaries are written by Anthropic’s Claude models, which receive the email text for that
